CASE HAUS - Portland Architect Interior Design

Case Haus

Restoration of a 1957 home originally designed by local architect Bud Oringdulph that was purchased in its very original condition in 2020 after having only two owners. When we acquired the house it had a major roof leak and burst floor pipes among other hurtles to overcome.  We did a completely new roof, added skylights, refinished the concrete floors, sand blasted the wood ceilings to remove the reddish tented stain and bring it back to a more natural color, restored the beautiful cabinets.  We took the old pool house and turned it into a studio for work from home needs complete with a full bathroom and coffee bar.  We approached the design in a way where our focus was to bring it back to its midcentury look but with some new modern 21st century twists. We really wanted this to be a true Case Haus where we could both study the past and explore materials and space and have some fun taking risks and working our design muscles in a new way. This home is used as a mid term month-to-month rental geared towards people working remotely that want to explore a new city.
